Project Partners Gather to Review Progress and Plan Future Steps

On the 15th and 16th of October, dot2dot had the pleasure of hosting the Green Tour’s second transnational meeting in Thessaloniki. Representatives from all partner organizations came together to assess the project’s progress and plan for the next stages. The Green Tour project aims to equip young people with practical green entrepreneurship skills through the lens of sustainable tourism.

The meeting kicked off with a review of key project milestones, focusing on the development of the training content for green entrepreneurship and ecotourism. The agenda included discussions on feedback from focus group meetings, updates on curriculum creation, and brainstorming sessions on the content and structure of the training materials. Attendees also discussed how to evaluate the training content to ensure its effectiveness in real-world educational settings.

A significant portion of the discussions centered on the creation of the Trainers’ Toolkit – a collection of lesson plans and practical activities designed to support young people in acquiring sustainability and ecotourism skills, as well as a guide for the implementation of green entrepreneurship in classrooms. This guide will serve as a valuable resource for trainers and youth workers to help young people develop sustainability skills in the tourism sector.

After a productive day of discussions, dot2dot treated the project partners to a guided walking tour of Thessaloniki’s Old Town. The historic setting offered an ideal opportunity to reflect on the relationship between experiential tourism, cultural preservation, and sustainability – an idea closely aligned with the goals of the Green Tour project.

On the second day, the focus shifted to project management and outreach efforts, and the creation of the E-Learning Platform, which will host the training content for easy access by all users, was also discussed.

The meeting concluded with a review of the upcoming tasks and timelines, ensuring that all partners are aligned for the next phases. With clear goals and collaborative energy, the Green Tour project continues to make great strides toward promoting sustainability and green entrepreneurship within the tourism sector
